Picspam time! The current prompt at picspammy: "focus your spam on one scene or sequence." For me, this one was a no-brainer. I saw that prompt and my mind immediately went to this one bit in the 1975 Doctor Who story The Android Invasion. It marked the moment I fell in lurve with the mighty Tom Baker, and of course Doctor Who!

Strange as it might sound, this one scene - more of a moment, really - was one of those things that has stuck with me forever. I first saw it when I was 15 and now, at 22, I still go a bit gooey when I see it. But the great thing about this scene is that it transcends just being a hot Tom Baker moment. After I had gotten into the show and had a good sense of what it was all about, it struck me that this scene from The Android Invasion summed up, for me, the character of the Doctor. And I'm not even limiting it to the character of the Fourth Doctor. You could make a case that this scene could have happened in any of the Doctors' eras, though I'd also argue that only Tom Baker could have pulled it off so subtly and with such panache. ;)

I recently found this great community (picspammy ) that gives a picspam prompt/challenge every month or so, and so I thought I'd take part in it! :D

The current challenge is Characters: "This challenge will focus on your favorite character[s]. Whether your reasons are superficial or substantial is up to you." And my list has a little of both. ;) Mostly substantial, but some shallowness can't help but creep in. :)

I decided to do a spam of 10 of my favorite film/TV/book characters. Well, I mention "book" because two characters on the list were book characters before they hit the silver screen. The rest are just TV and film characters. :)

Today (but by the time I post this it will be yesterday) would have been Freddie Mercury's 61st birthday, so I thought a little tribute would be in order. Everybody likes pictures, so away we go!

Hiya guys! I had meant to post icons earlier, but better late than never, eh? ;) Get yer Madonna icons here and a grab bag of icons here. I plan to make a bunch of new icons this week, and hopefully I'll actually get round to posting them! ;)

Now for the pics from Solomon's Island. My mom forgot to charge the camera, or empty the memory card, or whatever, so we only got a handful of pictures...

I'm still alive, and am actually doing pretty OK. Perhaps my newly upped dosage of one of my meds will start having an effect...?

One new development - I'm going to be going back to doing CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) as soon as possible. Turns out my new fantastic psych wants me to start it up again, but with someone new. So we're in the process of deciding upon a new CBT therapist. This is a good thing. I do need the therapy, because meds can only do so much...

Anywho, my family and I will be making our annual trek to Solomon's Island over the weekend (Friday and Saturday, then go home on Sunday afternoon). For as long as I can remember, we've visited Solomon's at some point during October. It's kind of a mini-vacation that doubles as an anniversary celebration for my parents, who were married on Oct 15 aeons ago. ;)

Solomon's is lovely, a very quiet little place with gorgeous views of the Chesapeake and lots of neat shops to visit, plus has a wonderful museum with all sorts of nautical paraphernalia. (My parents LOVE anything to do with the ocean, sailing, that sort of thing - my mom particularly adores lighthouses, so it's neat that SI has a beautiful lighthouse that you can take a tour of.)

So when I get back, I shall post piccies. :)

Wow, it's been awhile since I last posted. Time sure flies when blah blah blah. :)

So I had my nifty birthday weekend last weekend! Aside from OCD stuff, it was brilliant. The hotel was lovely (and creepy - more on that later!), and the musuem was just great. You were allowed to take pictures of the exhibits, so of course we took advantage of that. ;)
